Substitution Flours for Wheat
1 tbsp wheat flour is equal to any one on the following:
Between 1 ¼ teaspoons & 1 3/4 tsp of arrowroot depending on the recipe & your own preference.
Between 1 ¼ teaspoons and 2 teaspoons of cornstarch, depending on the recipe & your preference.
1 tablespoon of oat flour
1 tablespoon of oatmeal
Approximately 2 teaspoons to 2 ½ teaspoons of potato flour
Between ½ teaspoon and ½ tablespoon of potato starch, depending upon the recipe and your own preference.
½ to 1 Tablespoons of sago (derived from Indian Palms)
Between 1 – ¼ teaspoons and 2 teaspoons of tapioca, depending upon the recipe & your own preference.
1 cup of wheat flour is equal to any one of the following:
1 cup soy flour with ¼ cup of potato flour
7/8 cup rice flour
5/8 cup potato flour
½ cup soy flour with ½ cup potato flour
1 cup corn flour
7/8 cup amaranth flour (tapioca flour, arrowroot flour or any other starchy flour needs to be used with amaranth to lighten baked goods made with it.
7/8 cup buckwheat flour
¾ cup millet flour
