This Earth Day Community Natural Foods is proud to announce that we are Alberta’s first certified Ocean Wise grocery store! Being Ocean Wise certified means that we care about the health and sustainability of our oceans, rivers, and vibrant aquatic ecosystem. We’ve worked hard with the Vancouver Aquarium to ensure that our products meet the rigorous standards they set out for retailers and know that you, our customers, will appreciate the effort.

Celebrate our new certification with fellow Ocean Wise member New Chapter, makers of the Wholemega Fish Oil line of products, by entering our Ocean Wise contest. Enter in stores to win one of three prizes:

One 1st Prize winner will receive a trip for two, including airfare, accommodations, and ground transport to and from the airport, to the Vancouver Aquarium’s “Night at the Aquarium” gala.

One 2nd Prize winner will receive a $500 Gift Certificate to Community Natural Foods.

One 3rd Prize winner will get a gift basket valued at $250.

Change for the Earth

This Earth Day, Community invites you to share in our passion and help create change for the earth by participating in our Change for the Earth campaign.

Participating is easy. A long standing perk of shopping at Community is the 5 cent bag credit you receive for every reusable bag you bring and use in our store.

This Earth Day, April 22nd, you will be able to choose to take these bag credits OR donate them to 1 of 3 organizations we’ll be shining the spotlight on monthly in our stores and online.

When you choose to donate your bag credit we’ll give you a 5 cent chip and you can physically choose which organization you’ll donate your credit to by dropping it into one of the handy collection boxes.

See the below listings to learn more about the many reputable organizations we’ll be shining the spotlight on monthly in store, and how your 5 cent bag donations really can help make a difference.

The next time you visit our stores look for QR codes posted throughout our markets next to products whose producers are already making a difference and taking action to create change for the earth in an effort to make the world a better place to live.
